May 2002 - President's Message

Our May meeting will be a Breakfast meeting that Rose Ann and her committee have put together for us . . . . I am looking forward to that. Thank you Rose Ann!

Thank you to all of our members at the last meeting and those who answered Kathy Bartlett's email for all of your thoughts, concerns and suggestions for improving our organization. . . . . you will see some changes . . . . . some things may be trial and error, but with your help and suggestions continuing we will make the needed changes for growth and fellowship!

I need two volunteers for the Audit Committee . . . . . . please email me or call if you would be able to complete the audit of our Treasurer's books.

Donna will be our Regional Claims Professional of the Year and will compete at the National Conference in Anchorage! Special THANKS to Deb Gaffir our Awards chairperson for getting those applications submitted!

Ladies we will be Hosting Networking Weekend in September 2004 . . . . . I am looking for a chairman . . . . . please let me know if you would like to accept this challenge . . . . we could have two chairs . . . . . please email me or call me.

Ohio Council has new pins. They are a new design and look great. They continue to sell for $5.00 and will be available at the Ohio Council meeting in Akron.

It's nominations time again, folks. We need your active participation as an IWOT member, so please volunteer to serve as an Officer or a Committee Chairman. Please note our list of Office Descriptions.

Attention Board Members . . . . . Final Reports are due by May 29th!

Regional Conference in Kentucky . . . . Wow! We had a good time and great fellowship! Ask one of the First Timers the fun project they were assigned with a camera! They had a breakout session that was very interesting . . . we all became one of four tribes . . . . each was assigned a problem (such as lack of member attendance ) and then we all worked on solving these issues. We won some door prizes! Lots of good food, fellowship and entertainment!

PROGRAM - MAY 2002

I hope all of you will join us at Inverness Club on May 8, 2002 to celebrate NAIW Week. Roseanne Koperski has an interesting and informative program for us with the Honorable Judge Arlene Singer scheduled to speak. We will also be saluting our new members. This will be our breakfast meeting and it will begin at 7:30 AM and will adjourn at 9:30 AM. Cost is $12.00.

It seems we do not have enough interest in the Rules of the Road class for this year. I did receive a request to hold the class in September so that is what we will do. Please keep this in mind.

Public Relations - May 2002

Please refer to the 'forms' section of the bulletin, which announces our
regular meeting on May 8th. It will be a breakfast buffet at Inverness
Club, celebrating NAIW Week and also saluting our new members.

The Honorable Judge Arlene Singer has graciously agreed to be in attendance and will give brief remarks on 'Women's Professionalism in the Workplace'. A representative from the Mayor's office will present us with a proclamation declaring May 19 to May 25 as NAIW Week.

I have been assured of good weather at the beautiful Inverness Club, I know the company will be wonderful, and I hope to see everyone there!

Community Service - May 2002

The profit from education night was donated to Community Service. This is being donated to the battered women at the Cherry Street Mission. We have a full bag of goodies to take to them along with this donation. These are the soaps and shampoo samples which we have collected from the group. We are planning a meal donation to a needy group for the month of May. More information on this will follow.
