INSURANCE WOMEN OF TOLEDO
MARCH 13, 2002 - GENERAL MEETING
President Nancy Homan called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. at The Grape Leaf Diner.
Pledge of Allegiance was said and Collect was read by Stacey Dunbar.
Our guest speaker, Michael Mota, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Lucas County Prosecuting Attorney's office was introduced by Nancy Homan.
Guests: Melody Landis from the Hylant Group and Carol Strayer from the Miami Valley Insurance Women
Minutes: None
Correspondence: Ohio State Council needs help - they want anything to pass onto the Region IV History data. It was decided that the boxes that came from Clara Vail probably had information we could send.

Hochradel - $121.55 profit from Education night; she would like to give to

Service
Rules of the Road class will be starting up and Kathy Turley will be teaching; the cost is $25.00 - please sign up on sheet being passed around or call Lisa for more information.
By-Laws: No report (Kathy Bartlett mentioned that there is a meeting scheduled for 3/23/02
Legislation: Anna Gartner - Diane Zieman sent information regarding legislation on Breast Cancer; Anna will give to Traci Shook to put on website; for Anna's full report, check out IWOT's website

Finance & Budget: Kathy Bartlett - euchre will raise approximately $600 profit; Kathy suggesting we use Current as a fundraiser; Kathy passed out information and the Spring 2002 Fundraiser catalog; 50% of all sales go to your local fundraising group

Public Relations No report
Safety: Stacey Dunbar - thank you note from the Toledo Fire Department for our donation to the Smoke Detector program;
Hero's Award Banquet is on 4/10/02 at the Pinnacle in Maumee, and the Safety Council is asking for 12 members to help host the annual event; Stacey made a motion and Kathy Turley seconded that IWOT reschedule the April regular monthly meeting from 4/10/02 to 4/17/02; due to lack of a quorum, Nancy Homan will email the motion to members for an email vote.
Community Services: No report
Bulletin: Traci Shook - email notices to members reminding of the monthly meetings will be ready by April, 2002
Traci will discuss at the Board Meeting the advertisers situation on the website and will report at the April meeting.
Requested updates for the Happenings and Calendar sections on the website
Roster - not online due to security; is working on putting on a password where only members have access to roster information; Traci will get with membership chairman, Linda Heilmann to put together a paper roster
Awards: Deb Gaffir - Working with Nancy Homan on the application for NAIW's Pinnacle Award
Employment: No report
Jewelry: Sandy Powder - no report
Sports: No report
Reservations: Kim Reed & Kelly Ryan - 21 members, including 2 guests and 1 guest speaker; $10.50 in the ha ha and the winner was Sharon Klingler - ha ha
New Business: Kathy Turley discussed the response if Toledo was asked about hosting a Regional Conference
Unfinished Business: None
Bills not in Budget: Motion was made by Debby Gomez and seconded by Lisa Hochradel to pay for the registrations to 2002 Region IV Conference in KY for IWOT's Rookie of the Year and Claims Professional of the Year; due to lack of a quorum, Nancy Homan will email the motion to members for an email vote.
